ROOM 13 LA - The Heart of Art

Bagavagabonds are pumped to have ROOM 13 LA on board as our beneficiating charity for the upcoming (soon!) TIME Art Explosion! on February 12th

In short, ROOM 13 LA “is a student/adult co-managed and financed, sustainable, multi-media studio at Foshay Middle School in South Central Los Angeles.  Room 13 LA is part of Room 13 International, which includes over 80 studios around the world.”

In tall, ROOM 13 LA is a hands-on and motivated bunch of 170+ student artists getting down and dirty in all mediums in the heart of Los Angeles. Led by John Midby and artist-residence Kathia Dungplata, these kids have a daily outlet to express and create.

But with no public funding, ROOM 13 LA has to raise its own $$$ - So scratch the bake sales and car wash, BV is highlighting the original TIME inspired works of these young artists at this Saturday’s Art Explosion! On top of the 75+ student pieces, ROOM 13 will also be joining our screen printing team, spraying original stencil designs on FREE totes, creating a 5’x8’ chalk-wall mural and meeting & greeting all the Explosion goers with those killer smiles and their overwhelming energy.

As a wise man once said, “There’s no TIME like the present.” So break out them wallets and check books and lets show LA’s youth that we ‘Support Artists that Support Themselves!’

If you can’t make the event and still want to contribute to ROOM 13, send a check to:
