Bagavagabonds Art Explosions!
The Skinny: The Bagavagabonds Art Explosion! is an original concept that derives on the idea that art doesn’t have to be judged with a critical eye, and should be accessible to those who enjoy it. The Bagavagabonds contact countless artists from all over the world to create art based on a theme... The Bagavagabonds Crew will then assemble the art, and the majority of the pieces will be sold via silent auction for a maximum of 100 bucks. The goal is to give artists a chance to create and show, and give patrons and fans a chance to see a piece of art they like, take it off our wall, and put it on theirs with ALL proceeds from the art sales going to benefit a local youth arts charity! A win-win all around.
The History: The Animal Art Explosion! started it all at Joe’s Studio in Hollywood back in 2007. The Beatles and POP! Art Explosions! took place at the PE Lofts Grand Ballroom Downtown. DREAM brought the concept to The Brick Building in Culver City in 2010, and TIME and CALIFORNIA AE's took over the Arts Continuum warehouse in the Machinery District in 2011. With help from a variety of like-minded sponsors, the Bagavagabonds have welcomed over 4000 people and sold over 800 pieces of original art off of the walls. Add in some original short films, incredible skits and dance, countless musical collaborations, screen printing, collaborative creative installations, and the results have been outstanding, progressive and rewarding for all!
